Sports and leisure are a key part of our program as studies have shown their positive impact regarding the potential to maximise transferrable skills such as leadership and teamwork. It provides mentees with the empowerment of making healthy choices and improve physical fitness and provides them an emotional safety valve that enables those who participate to blow off steam and transition any negative behaviour or thoughts in an acceptable fashion which can then be transitioned into everyday life.
Inserting sports and leisure stimulants is also a key to driving self-management, healthy discipline and confidence within a mentee. This can be given through individual-orientated sports and leisure with coaching providing role-model outlooks on older adults and being given personal attainable goals to help mentees improve their focus, self-esteem and drive to succeed.
Team-orientated sports and leisure can help drive social bonding within a group setting. This can then influence trust and positive relationships with others through group goal setting, support and influencing confidence, group achievements, and development in social confidence which young people can then transition into everyday life.
Within this section of the program activities such as; Football, Boxing, Rugby, MMA, and Many more shall be utilised for young people to gain the skills and experience listed above, this shall then help with the accomplishment of the mentoring program.
